Summer Fridays Vol. 1

Welcome to Summer Fridays!

I actually got the idea for Summer Fridays from How Sweet Eats. So, thank you, Jessica.

Fridays in the summer are just the best. The only thing better than Summer Fridays are four-day weekends made possible by taking Thursday or Monday off. (I prefer to take Monday off — 2 4-day weeks in a row? YES, PLEASE.) (One summer, my step-mom took like, every Friday off of work just so she and my dad could go out on the boat. #TheDream)

Summer Fridays, and summers in general, are all about soaking up all the fun and sun you can. They’re reserved for YOU. If you want to get after it with a run along the lake? Go for it. Catch up on your reading? Me, too! Margaritas on a patio somewhere in the city? Uh, count me in. Headed up north to a lake house? So. Much. Fun. Whatever it is, you’re living it up. As you should!

I have a confession to make. I have been reading A Game of Thrones since before Season 8 ended. I was disappointed with the lack of storytelling throughout the season but I wasn’t ready for it to be over. You know? So I decided to pick up the books in the event that GRRM actually finishes The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. Fingers crossed.

We make a lot of fajita bowls around here. ‘Nuff said. They’re so quick to make and you can easily double or triple the recipe to make lunches for the week.

I’ve also been watching a lot of Jane The Virgin. Because, apparently, I like watching shows that started years ago.

I bought the FitIndex scale about a week ago and have been loving it thus far. The scale is bluetooth so you just need to download the app and it does the tracking for you. It measures 13 metrics including scale weight, lean body mass, and body fat percentage. So far, I feel like the non-scale weight measurements are fairly accurate. I’m excited to see the changes going forward!

This is a screenshot from the app. I covered up most of my personal details just so you can get a feel for what it’s like. I’m a big fan of the hot pink but there are other themes to choose from!
